The "Skulls and Revolution!" on October 29th at Wall Eye Gallery was inspired by the 100th year anniversary of the Mexican Revolution which we decided to have it during Dia de los Muertos holiday. These are the two Stitchlings I've created for the event:

Another Movie Poster.

I felt it was a crime that Star Wars was not going to be represented in the upcoming "Cinematic Redux" show so I did one myself. I wanted to do so many more posters but "Gone With The Wind" took longer that I had expected. However I may still try to crank out a few more before the show.

Zombie Update #1

Here my first update for my Zombie "Gone With The Wind" Poster. I've got the text blocked out for the most part plus I've got most of Clarke's skin done. I'm pretty pleased with it so far.

Here is the finished set of Star Wars Skull Tiles. I also went back a touched up Vader a bit as I was not happy with him when compared to the others. While they were made for the $50 show in Cleveland, OH, I will be selling the remaining tiles on Etsy after the show.

In addition to being created to commemorate the 30th anniversary of "The Empire Strikes Back", these small 8"x8" tiles done for the $50 show on June 12th @ Pop Shop / (art)ificial Gallery. They are of course done with my own special interpretation and I plan on doing a few more before the show.

Isn't It a Pity

Here's my final painting for the "A Day in The Life" show. A 12"x12" torn paper paining on wood of George Harrison. While I never really intend to have the skeletal images I often employ in my work to be morbid, I cannot deny the correlation of his smoking in the image, the shadowed skull and his death from lung cancer. Because of this I have chosen to entitle the painting "Isn't It a Pity", one of his most popluar songs from his 1970 solo album All Things Must Pass.

The "A Day in The Life" show will run from June 24th thru July 24th and will have an opening reception on July 10th from 6-9 at the (art)ificial Gallery in Lakewood, OH.

Cinematic Redux Show

When asked to take part in a show where all the works had to be re-vamped versions of classic film posters, My first thought was "What movie would be better with zombies?", the answer: "All of them". But after thinking about it a for a bit I decided to turn my sights on a true classics who's original poster is almost a horror film anyway.
With the main characters in a near feeding pose and Atlanta burning it only need a few minor tweaks to zombify this vintage artwork. Here's a sketch of what I've got so far:

"A Hard Days Night" Project

The first is for the upcoming "A Day in The Life" show, showcasing art dedicated to the Beatles. in addition to the standard work of the show, the show organizer Billy Naniger, has gathered multiple artists to create their own renditions of the one of the portraits on the original cover of "A Hard Days Night":
I chose the image of George Harrison on the far right (smoking) and decided to do what I always do. I put a skull on it. Here's a sketch:

"Year of the Tiger " Update #9

And after a few touch ups, the final test: How does it look outside?

"Year of the Tiger " Update #8

After retouching some of the fade lines and adding the high/low lights, I think I'm entering the home stretch.

"Year of the Tiger " Update #7

After all the tape is removed, I can finally get a good look at the direction this is going. So far so good.

"Year of the Tiger " Update #6

So far so good. I just did a light dusting of a very dark blue. The plan is to achieve a very subtle gradation as the stripes move down.
